Job brief
Seeking a skilled and motivated Azure Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security solutions in our Microsoft Azure environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud security best practices, identity and access management, threat detection, and compliance frameworks. This role will be instrumental in protecting our cloud infrastructure and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement security controls and threat protection strategies across Azure services.
Monitor, assess, and respond to security events using tools like Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and Log Analytics. - Manage and configure Azure Active Directory (AAD) and implement RBAC and Conditional Access policies.
Conduct regular security assessments and penetration tests in the Azure environment. - Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA).
Automate security processes using PowerShell, ARM templates, and Azure CLI. - Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and development teams to embed security into cloud architecture and deployments.
- Participate in incident response planning and execution for cloud-related incidents.
- Keep up with evolving security threats and proactively suggest mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in a cloud security role, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, IAM, key vaults, security center, and policy.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar SIEM/SOAR tools.
- Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO/IEC 27001).
- Relevant certifications preferred:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
